Eric Silverman

It happens, in the throes of a madness
it’s not getting better, curses and screaming at the wound
All the wrong. Open up, Old man, I pound the gate to open
Pray, come, let’s do business. No time for hide and seek.

Sometimes, a note gets through. Sometimes, a notion
Not Kesey, not eschatologue

A Voice, once, twice, answering soft and vital
as succulents grow between the cracked
rock in the garden. The twisting rant stops.
It says, I Am Here.

Eric J. Silverman is a published poet and a previous contributor to Numinous Magazine. He is currently at work on a novel, about a dead Talmudic scholar with an agenda.
